Your Goldsmid Team

Your Labour and Co-operative Team for Goldsmid Ward is Councillor Melanie Davis, Nigel Jenner and Liz Telcs. To find out how to contact them see our Contacts page.

Labour Goldsmid Councillor surgeries are mobile. On Saturdays Cllr Melanie Davis leaflets a small area of roads in advance with her details. She then calls on residents to talk to them to discuss the local issues that concern them. Full details of Surgeries are here. All residents are welcome.

See the publications section to view the newsletters we have put out in the ward as part of our effort to keep in touch with you.

Vallance 'Open' for IT users

Vallance Community Centre in Hove is hosting supervised computer sessions which are open to all. The Centre has seven PCs with Internet access and Wi-Fi. The sessions are on Friday afternoons from 1pm to 6pm, you can drop in any time.

Victory for Residents at Accident Blackspot

Residents living near the notorious Davigdor and Osmond Roads junction are celebrating today having won their case for a safer crossing . Their sheer persistence with help from local council officers and their local councillor means they will have a new island in the middle of Davigdor road to help residents - young and old - cross much more safely. Full story here.

Fighting for new school places in Hove

Labour Councillor Melanie Davis is continuing to urge the City Council to create a new Primary School in Hove. The Connaught site in Hove would provide an excellent centrally located new primary school for local children. However, the Council has said that it will take them up to a year to make a decision. Full story here.

St. Ann's Well Festival

The May festival at St. Ann's Well Gardens was a huge success again in 2010 with over 2,000 people attending. Photos are now on this site here.

Councillor Melanie Davis is chair of the Friends of St. Ann's Well Gardens. For the latest see their website at stannswellgardens.co.uk.

Welcome to goldsmid.com

After a bit of a break in activity on my part, goldsmid.com is being updated with new material. Labour's action team of Melanie Davis, Nigel Jenner and Liz Telcs has been active all over the ward and maybe you will have seen them in your street, or at least had an 'out card'.
