Estate Warden Service to be improved (12 January 05)

An enhanced Estate Wardens service is due to be introduced from 1 April 2005 by Brighton & Hove City Council.

A paper agreed by the Council's Housing Committee is due to be discussed by Council Tennants in the 'Central' area, including Goldsmid, later in January.

The highlights are:Clarendon House, Clarendon Road

  • Enhanced estate warden service from 1 April 2005
  • Increased investment in providing the service
  • Increase in estate warden personnel from 44 to 56 staff
  • Capital investment in vehicles, supplies and services of £302, 000 e.g., dedicated 'Grafitti Wagon'
  • Consultation via the Estate Warden Review Group which consisted of staff and tennants, staff in the current warden service were involved in the new service's development, and trade unions were also advised.

This should provide an improved service for all Council tenants and leaseholders living in Council-owned flats in the ward, for instance in Clarendon Road and Ellen Street.
