Locks to be renewed at Ellen, Conway (21 January 2005)

After speaking with the Council's head of repairs and maintenance Phil Weaving today, I'm pleased to say that the entry systems of both Conway Court and Ellen House in Clarendon Road are due to be completely renewed.

Ongoing incidents of anti-social behaviour are being tackled through action by both the police and youth workers, action initiated by the Clarendon Local Action Team.

One key problem has been the ease of access to the blocks of flats in Clarendon Road where the entry systems have been faulty and beyond repair.

The contract for new entry systems has been let and work should start in March, subject to consultation with leaseholders in the next month.
