Lib Dem 'no show' on school admissions
(April 2006)

The Lib Dem member of the all-party working group on school admissions failed to turn up to a single meeting of the group investigating the future of access to secondary schools.

"This is one of the biggest issues for families in Goldsmid Ward," said Councillor Simon Battle, a member of the working group himself.

"I was stunned that the Lib Dem member of the group failed to turn up for a single meeting."

"We met about 15 times, including long sessions listening to evidence from worried parents who were concerned about their childrens' future education."

"The Lib Dems showed scant regard for the many families living in Hove that want the chance to send their children to their nearest secondary school, Blatchington Mill."
