Hove Library Re-opens - photos (June 2006)

Hove Library has re-opened after undergoing £350,000 of improvements by Labour-led Brighton & Hove City Council.

The new library is more accessible, with a public lift being installed between the ground and first floors, and fully disabled-accessible toilets.

Self-service facilities like those at Brighton’s Jubilee Library have been introduced, along with better lighting, CCTV security and an audio-visual section.

There are updated study facilities, with a separate reference section, and the reading room for journals and the Wolseley room for local history and special collections have been retained. Historic features such as wooden floors and shelves have been preserved.
