Free bus passes for the over 60s - have you got yours yet? (June 2006)

Thanks to Labour chancellor Gordon Brown, now every person in England aged 60 and over is entitled to a free local off-peak bus travel.

Since April 2006, free bus travel on local bus services is available to Sussex Countycard holders. This applies to Brighton & Hove and throughout Sussex.”

Goldsmid Councillor Vince Meegan is encouraging the over 60s to apply for a free pass. “There are still people who have not taken up the free pass so I would urge anyone over sixty to contact the Council to get a Countycard.”
