This is Ethel Street in Hove. Before Labour Councillors took action this site was awash with abandoned vehicles and piles of tyres and broken glass.

Thanks to a concerted campaign by local councillors and residents, the site here and in Conway Street was cleared of vehicles. Wooden bollards were installed and now new trees have been planted.

The improvements were carried out by the Environmental Improvements Team within Labour Brighton & Hove City Council. The funding came partly from private business in the area and partly from the City Council itself.
